It is with great pleasure we announce that starting Thursday October 22, SCAS members will have access to the Museum of Spanish Colonial Arts (MoSCA) for tours - by appointment only - of "Trails, Rails, and Highways: How Trade Transformed the Art of Spanish New Mexico" curated by Robin Farwell Gavin.

The exhibit, originally curated in the fall of 2019 and featuring hundreds of items from the Society's collections, has been re-configured throughout several rooms of the museum for one-way traffic and increased spacing. You can learn more about this fascinating and comprehensive exhibit here.

  4. Temperatures will be taken before visitors enter the building and those who register a fever or other symptoms will not be allowed entry;
  5. Masks must be worn inside the museum at all times;
  6. The restroom will not be available for use;

The Museum of Spanish Colonial Art is the only museum in the country dedicated to exhibiting and interpreting the art of the Spanish colonial period with a focus on Hispanic New Mexico. The Museum houses an incredible collection of over 3700 pieces, including historically significant and contemporary works. The building itself, a Spanish – Pueblo Revival-style building, was designed by renowned architect John Gaw Meem in 1930. Meem and his wife were early supporters of the Society and donated hundreds of items to the collection. The building provides an intimate, homelike setting where visitors from around the world can view the collections and learn the fascinating history of Spanish colonial art worldwide.
